Stavroula Peleki became the director of the Orphanage for Girls in Lamia in 1960, at just 22 years old, having completed her studies at the Marasleio School. In a time when Phthiotis was trying to heal the wounds of the Civil War, she became a true “mother” to the girls in her care, not only raising and nurturing them, but also helping them build a better future. Stavroula Peleki is a living example of selflessness, generosity, affection, and dedication, earning the respect and love of the local community for her work, leaving an indelible mark on the city of Lamia.
